Especially when done as brilliantly as in Furuba. Not to mention Takaya said she knew Akito would be a woman since the conception of the manga. Akito’s whole gender identity issue is perhaps one of the most brilliant things about this story and certainly ties together and explains a lot of points.  oh my god what is this confession nothing about this “twist” was last minute or forced I never finished Furuba because I stopped being able to tell the characters apart I really just need to go back and read all of it at once lol what kind of idiot —
